how wonderful my daughter is? I am so happy that Cláudia and I no longer seem to have to enforce time limits when she wants to use her tablet. Her initial excitment over having her very own tablet seems to have naturally died down a bit. She also is less interested in watching television than she used to be. This is not to say that she no longer enjoys watching tv or playing on her tablet but she can now go days without either one of them now.
Cláudia has been a big help with this. She is so artsy-crafty herself (notice that I didn't say artsy- fartsy) that she has made a real point to encourage creativity in Evan. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. When I was in the hospital a couple of weeks ago, Evan made her first 'stuffed animal (with some help from Cláudia). Evan named her first creation Tipos. Tipos is a cat. Since then she has also made a little rag doll named Rose. She has also worked hard in creating a nice wardrobe for Rose.
I think that it is this encouraging of creativty that has really helped Evan to become more engaged in doing more interesting and meaningful things than simply being glued to a tv or a computer during her free time. Just saying.
